A smorgasbord of delights for small string groups!
Touted as “the father of the classical symphony and string quartet”, Austrian composer Joseph Haydn established ground-breaking quartets, in which four players performed as equals. Since then, almost every great composer from Mozart to Shostakovich has written music in this form. There are however, many wonderful works for smaller and larger string groups, each with its own unique charm.
In this lunchtime concert, musicians from Resound Collective, Singapore's leading chamber music assembly, bring you a sumptuous selection of this music by Haydn, Mozart, Mendelssohn and Borodin.
